The Glorious History

Reddy Community Through the Ages

The history of the Reddy community is as ancient as the Satya Yuga itself. From the era of dharma and devotion, through Treta, Dwapara, and into Kali Yuga, Reddys have always stood as pillars of sacrifice, courage, and service.

For centuries, countless Reddy warriors, saints, and leaders dedicated their lives to protect dharma, society, and the nation. Our journey is deeply rooted in land, valor, and divine blessings. The heritage of Reddys is not just a memory but a living force—guiding us even today towards unity, prosperity, and dharma

Yagna Varaha Swamy

Considered the eternal protector and kuladaivam of the Reddy community since Satya Yuga. Blessed by Bhoomata herself, Varaha Swamy granted Reddys land, wealth, and prosperity, making them natural landowners and guardians of dharma. Ancient kings, including Sri Krishnadevaraya, worshipped him daily and even engraved his symbol on royal emblems. His worship is said to give the fruits of performing a yajna, ensuring courage, victory, and abundance for families.

Kala Bhairavudu

The fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, described in Puranas as the guardian of time, space, and truth. For Reddys, Kala Bhairava became the divine protector of well-being, ensuring their safety against enemies and evil forces. Daily recitation of the Kala Bhairava Ashtakam is believed to grant purity of thought, knowledge, and ultimately liberation. By worshipping him, Reddys protect their families from calamities, strengthen their inner power, and live with fearlessness and spiritual strength.

Hemareddy Mallamma

Born in the 14th century to Nagireddy and Gouramma in North Karnataka, Mallamma was a true embodiment of Shiva bhakti. She dedicated her life to Lord Shiva, earning divine grace and merging with him as a sacred river at Srisailam, where she has a temple known as Mallamma Kanneeti Aalayam. Today, she is remembered as a symbol of faith, sacrifice, and womanly virtue, inspiring generations of Reddys to walk the path of devotion and purity.

Kashireddy Nayana

Also known as Munelli Kashireddy, an avadhootha, became spiritually enlightened under the guidance of his guru. After deep penance in Kashi, he returned with the mission of dharma restoration. He rebuilt temples, re-established deities, started annadana satrams, and guided people to spirituality and righteousness. His life was dedicated to uplifting villages and reviving spiritual centers, leaving behind temples that still stand as pillars of Sanatana Dharma even today.

Bala Reddamma

is a 16th-century divine child from Chittoor, born to Ramireddy and Nagamma. When Islamic invaders attempted to capture her, she prayed to Lord Shiva and merged into a hill that split into two, leaving behind her divine presence. That hill today is worshipped as Reddamma Konda, she is believed to bless devotees with fertility, children, and well-being. Considered a guardian mother and protector of innocence, her shrine continues to draw devotees seeking blessings of prosperity and family happiness.

Bhakta Mallareddy
(Kunti Mallareddy)

Regarded as the kulaguru of Reddys, born as the divine blessing of Lord Mallikarjuna of Srisailam to Satyam Reddy and Chinnamangamma. Despite being born without a leg and an arm, he was blessed directly by Lord Shiva and taught the sacred knowledge of dharma. He recorded 1,85,000 house names, 1,85,000 gotras, and 101 family lineages, ensuring Reddy identity remained preserved for eternity. His copper inscriptions at Srisailam serve as eternal records of Reddy heritage. Every Reddy family reveres him as the eternal guide, unifier, and protector of the community’s lineage and traditions.
